MYSTERY SHOPPING FOR HANTS COUNTY COUNCIL on 14.04.2010.
Last summer several members of NFAFA had fun carrying out ‘mystery shopping’ access audits for HCC. We visited libraries, a registry office, museums and other public buildings to see how accessible they were, to identify any access problems, and to see how helpful the members of staff were.
On April 14th, three NFAFA committee members attended a follow-up meeting at Winchester to hear the findings of the ‘mystery shopping’ surveys, with representatives of access groups from other parts of Hampshire. Managers of the different facilities gave presentations and lively discussions ensued. The group suggested some priorities for improvements to access that we identified in the ‘mystery shopping’ audits.
One of the most valuable parts of the day was meeting members from other access groups and realising that we are not alone!!
HCC gave a generous donation to NFAFA funds for our efforts. Thank you to all the NFAFA members who gave their time so generously for this exercise last year.
