Please read the guidance notes before using the maps for the first time.
To help you choose a walk which suits your abilities and circumstances, we have rated them from 1 – 5, 1 being the easiest and 5 the most difficult. None of the walks requires a large cross-country scooter but the harder ones will be outside the scope of most manual and many electric wheelchair users.
If you have any comments after trying any of these trails which you think could improve our site for other users, please e-mail us at enquiries@newforestaccessforall.org.uk. Don’t forget to let us know your mobility, i.e. 2 feet +/- aids, manual wheelchair +/- pusher, scooter and other relevant information such as weather conditions.
In the Summers of 2009 and 2010, members of NFAFA, armed with a GPS, measuring levels, an altimeter, a clipboard and a flask of coffee, surveyed and mapped some of the most popular walks in the New Forest National Park.
We recorded gradients, cross-falls and surface conditions so that anyone using the maps should know what to expect from the trail. Details of on-site facilities such as disabled parking, toilets, seats and information points are also included with additional comments to help you enjoy your day out.
The location of the walks we have surveyed so far are shown in the walk location map.
You can download the individual maps and their accompanying notes from the Table below.
